"Paradise found"

"Beautiful"

"A little piece of paradise"

We loved it here with Graham and Saranne, our welcoming and multilingual hosts. The setting is authentic, comfortable and unpretentious, perched above their working olive grove. We had a lovely moonlit walk up the country lane in search of nightingales. It was fun to savor some great local wines, introduced by Graham, who is in the business. We enjoyed local historical sites and hiked in the best kept secret in Le Marche, the Sibillini, along smooth paths on ridges with 360 degree views. We enjoyed our stay immensely in this unspoiled region and we’ll be back.

I can honestly describe this beautiful and historic farmhouse in it's spectacular and peaceful setting as a little piece of heaven on earth. The tranquil atmosphere of this rural house proved to be the perfect restorative for this work-stressed traveller. Saranne and Graham have restored and decorated the house with both artistic flair and ecological care: the warmth, hospitality and comfort offered make one feel completely at home and totally relaxed. I have not slept so well for a long time; the beds are comfy, the bedrooms cool with simple but tasteful and stylish furnishings, the views from them panoramic and breathtakingly beautiful. Bathrooms are excellent: modern and stylish, plentiful hot water and powerful showers! The cooking and dining facilities in the house are very good: again, a home-from-home. If you crave stress-free living, if you love to be surrounded by a historic and beautiful landscape, if you enjoy being with sympathetic, friendly and welcoming people in a house which exudes character and timeless serenity, then this is the place for you.

If, like me, you have never been to Italy before, Le foglie ridenti is the perfect place to start.
The house is set in beautiful rolling hills, covered with vineyards and olive groves, and nestled between the distant but visible sea and the impressive Sibillini Mountains. It is full of charm and very comfortable and is a great place to come back to after a day of exploraton. The local towns are full of history - churches with amazing frescoes, fantastic architecture - even the ruins are beautiful! If you love coffee you won't be disappointed - wherever you go you will have perfect espresso. The food is delicious - I suggest for lunch you have the degustazione - plenty for sharing and lots of tasty things to try.
Graham's wine tasting evening was perfect for connoisseurs or, like me, complete novices.
He will tell you how the vines are planted and why, harvesting and pressing and anything else you'd like to know. I learnt how to look at, smell, taste and drink wine. He also told me about olive oil and the various processes which go into it's production - so whilst I had a wonderful, relaxing stay I also learnt lots of new things! I cannot recommend this place highly enough - you can do as much or as little as you please and you will fall in love with it. I even started to learn some Italian - courtesy of Saranne and Graham's two beautiful daughters! Thank you all for a fabulous stay...I will return!
